       Morningview residents Hold stream cleanup

After the South Grand River Watershed Alliance (SGRWA) presented a program about watersheds and streams to the Home Owners Association of Morningview Adult Community in Raymore, residents of the community took action. They held a stream cleanup event on the headwater stream that begins in their community. Nine residents, Joanne and Bob Doudrick, Larry Clark, Chris Harrelson, Ed Harris, Jerry Jenkins, Sue Wendel, Wilma Bell, and John Beckerdite, worked many hours picking up trash in and around the stream. A number of trash bags were filled as a result of their efforts. The group is already talking of plans to hold future stream cleanup events.
